BUILDING ORGANIZATIONAL INNOVATION CAPACTITY

CLIENT:

Rios Partners

Context / Challenge: While working at Rios, I was tasked with enhancing Rios’s innovation capabilities. My responsibilities included developing Human-Centered Design (HCD) training programs for both internal employees and clients, and co-authoring bespoke playbooks and toolkits to support long-term innovation initiatives for both Rios and our clients.

Approach: I conducted thorough research to understand Rios's specific needs and the challenges faced by our clients. I collaborated closely with various teams to design customized HCD training modules tailored to our unique requirements. These modules focused on fostering empathy, creativity, and collaboration. I led a team in designing and facilitating 1-day training workshops (conducted bi-monthly at first then quarterly) to educate employees about the tools, methods, and how to apply HCD in every type of project. I also encouraged open communication and actively sought feedback from colleagues to ensure their concerns were addressed throughout the process.

Simultaneously, I co-authored company-wide bespoke playbooks and toolkits that offered practical guidance on implementing HCD methodologies across different projects.

Impact: My efforts led to a significant transformation within Rios. Employees actively participated in HCD training sessions and embraced innovative practices in their work. The bespoke playbooks and toolkits became invaluable resources for Rios and our clients, guiding them through the process of integrating HCD into their projects and delivering impactful solutions. Consequently, Rios experienced increased client satisfaction, retention, and revenue from innovative projects. Overall, my leadership in building innovation capabilities at Rios not only improved internal processes but also reinforced our position as a trusted advisor in the consultancy industry.
